How is FM Acupuncture different from other clinics?

FM Acupuncture is Fargo’s premier holistic clinic for treating patients with high stress lifestyles that suffer from headaches/migraines, digestive disorders and insomnia. Lexi has special training in treating patients with chronic pain disorders, anxiety, insomnia and headaches. She is also the only acupuncturist in North Dakota to currently have completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture.

Who can benefit from your treatments?

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for almost every ailment people suffer from. Not only is it a great treatment for pain and recommended by the NIH and Mayo Clinic, it also treats multiple internal medicine disorders. People that are looking for a new approach to their long-term health would greatly benefit from acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments.

Does FM Acupuncture accept insurance?

We currently do not accept insurance but we can provide forms for patients to submit to their insurance companies for reimbursement. We do accept HSA and Flex savings payments.

How does acupuncture work?

Scientific research has discovered that Acupuncture points show a variety of unique bioelectric properties. Stimulation of specific Acupuncture points can cause significant physiological reactions in the body. Some of these include increased brain activity (such as the release of painkilling endorphins), enhanced function of the immune system, sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous systems and endocrine system. Most of all, Acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural ability to heal itself, regain homeostasis and maintain its relationship with nature.

Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is a very safe medial practice. Trained professionals use hair-thin, sterile needles which are then inserted at various Acupuncture points in the body. Recent studies have showed that serious side effects occur in less than 1 patients out of 10,000. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates acupuncture needles for use by licensed practitioners, requiring that needles be manufactured and labeled according to certain standards. For example, the FDA requires that needles be sterile, nontoxic, and labeled for single use by qualified practitioners only.

What type of training does a Board Certified Acupuncturist receive?

In the United States, the standard for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is a Master’s level degree in Acupuncture and Chinese or Oriental Medicine. Curriculum includes roughly 3,000 hours of study, clinical rotations, and possible experience in an herbal dispensary or pharmacy. Additionally, in order to become licensed each practitioner must pass several board exams, which differ based on each state. In order to maintain an Acupuncture license, most states also require a specific number of continuing education hours.

insurance policy

FM Acupuncture does not directly bill any insurance companies. Dr. Lexi is happy to provide an itemized receipt that patients can submit to insurance companies on their own behalf. If you’re curious if your insurance covers acupuncture, please contact your insurance company directly.

FM Acupuncture gladly accepts HSA and FLEX cards as a form of payment. All major credit cards, check, and cash are also acceptable forms of payment.

FM Acupuncture requires payment for all treatments at the time of service. If you choose to submit your bills to your insurance company, payment must first be received and then a detailed receipt will be provided.

FM Acupuncture requires 24-hour notice for all cancellations. All patients are required to have a valid credit card on file. If an appointment is cancelled without notice, the patient will be charged the full amount for the appointment. A card is required for online booking, but the card will not be charged until the time of service.

Exceptions will be made for emergencies and illness. If you’re not feeling well, please stay home.
