Hi, I’m Dr. Lexi. I’m the owner of FM Acupuncture. I also do all of the reception work and office management. I opened FM Acupuncture in 2015. My desire to find out how things worked led me to acupuncture. When I was in high school, I shadowed different healthcare providers for a class and fell in love with holistic medicine. Being from small town North Dakota, I didn’t have a lot of exposure to any kind of medicine other than the traditional doctor route and the chiropractor.
Our local chiropractor also did holistic medicine work and acupuncture. He was HEALING people. People were getting better. Not only that, but he was following up with people. I was so used to people going to get treatment and then you didn’t go back unless you were sick again. This chiropractor was calling his patients and asking them how they were doing. If they weren’t well, he was having them come in for more treatment. I decided right then and there, that was the kind of practitioner I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to heal people - to treat the symptoms that fall through the cracks of main stream medicine.
After high school, I went to MSUM-Moorhead and graduated with my Biology Degree with an emphasis in Health and Medical Sciences. I started at Northwestern 11 days after graduating, and completed my degree there in 2015. I started my practice, FM Acupuncture, a few weeks after graduating and have been seeing patients ever since. In 2017, I decided to go back to school to finish my doctorate degree in Acupuncture through Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. Thank goodness for online class options!
At FM Acupuncture, I strive to not only treat patients and their symptoms, but to help them get to the bottom of why they’re having the symptoms in the first place. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we call the symptoms the branch of the disease, and the cause the root of the disease. I enjoy treating patients with busy lifestyles that have high stress and all the symptoms that come with it. At the end of the day, most of us can’t change our jobs and completely uproot our lives to have Zen. With acupuncture, we can maintain our active lives and treat the symptoms that come along with it to keep ourselves healthy and happy.
